INAUGURATED THE CANARY ISLANDS PUBLIC REGIONAL RADIO, EQUIPPED AND INSTALLED BY AEQ WITH THE LAST DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
Transmissions initiated punctually and without previous tests, to full satisfaction and in spite of a very stringent schedule
On May 30, 2008, local holiday on the Canary islands to celebrate its regional constitution , punctually at 12:00 AM the Canary Island Public Regional Radio, CANARIAS RADIO, was inaugurated. It is the first phase of start-up of two main production centers in the region. For the diffusion, this new regional radio uses 23 transmitting c enters installed in the whole archipelago. The center of Great Canary consists of two studios (control - booth), a self-control, two cabins and a central control room.
Alll the studios, including the cabins are equipped with digital ARENA mixers interconnected with the central BC-2000 D Router. Both controls have been configured to be able of attending to two booths simultaneously or to only one, just pressing a button.
All the input/output devices of the system are installed at the machine room (central control with racks) close to the AEQ BC - 2000 D Router. The external communications AEQ Systel 6000 multiconference system, and to manage it Radio Canarias is using Systelset like interfaces for audio and intercommunication touch-screen terminals. In addition in the principal control room there is installed a production workstation.
Another important part of the installation is the new AEQ's automation system, Mar4SuitePro version evolved from the classic Mar4win system. Canarias Radio is one the reference installation for Mar4SuitePro, with three servers, five playout workstations in the studios and six production workstations. This Mar4SuitePro installation has all the typical applications in the Mar4win system: news, text edition with embedded audio, audio edition and fragmentation, continuity recording for legal copy and playout and data management. The machine racks room or central control room, includes four 42U racks to install all the electronic elements of the systems before mentioned, the MarSuitePro servers, ISDN EAGLE and COURSE audiocodecs, AEQ LISTENER multi-receiver and complete patch panel for digital and analogical signals. It is necessary to emphasize that the emission of May 30 began without previous tests due to the short term of installation, being able to be verified by the customer technical direction, the total reliability of AEQ's equipment when existing not even an alone ON-AIR failure.
