KMFM SELECTS AEQ ARENA FOR ITS FACILITIES IN MEDWAY

AEQ BC2000D technology provided for four of KMFM's studios and central router

KMFM is the trade name of the radio business part of the Kent Messenger Group, with strong influence in the mass media of Kent county (southeast of London) with newspapers, magazines and radio stations, with emission from Ashford, Dover, Canterbury, Folkstone, Maidstone, Medway and Thanet.

For its facilities of radio in Medway, AEQ has supplied 4 digital consoles model AEQ ARENA with 5 faders and 32 programmable buttons, as well as a central router AEQ BC2000D. All the mixers are connected to the central router across bidirectional MADI links over optical fiber, in that way practically any present signal in any studio, is available in any other studio.

Three of the studios called NEWS 1, 2 and 3 are configured as self-control cabins, having the particularity the studio 3 that works in parallel with a small TV CromaKey studio for applications of Internet-TV. The possibility of using the integrated PFL loudspeakers of the control surface, as loudspeakers of control (CRM), facilitates the installation of the studios reducing the equipment to use. These NEWS studios are distributed around a central journalist area.

The fourth studio named PRODUCTION STUDIO, works also on a 5 faders ARENA, but in a control/studio configuration, with a small associated cabin. In this case the functions of CUE and CRM use different loudspeakers.
