AEQ INTERCOM SYSTEMS, ON BOARD VAV’S OB VAN PLAYED A CRITICAL ROLE BY PROVIDING COMMUNICATION IN THE GOYA AWARDS.
Once again, TVE (the national television broadcaster in Spain) was in charge of broadcasting the Goya 2020 Awards Gala, held at Malaga.
Pedro Almodovar, the spanish director played the main role in the event, introducing his most personal film “Dolor y Gloria”.
VAV was the media company selected to cover the red carpet event. For this occasion, the Madrid-based production company relied on it´s 4K 21st OB Van, usually deploid in large sport events or TV Galas.
This OB van is equipped with 10 cameras, Canon and Fujinon optics, 4 EVS XT3 servers and a Kahuna 9600 mixer among other equipment. All the audio network is based on Dante protocol, including a 36+8 Fader production console, Dolby encoders and Genelec speakers. To integrate external links, the OB Van has equipped with AEQ Netbox 32 AoIP interfaces, AEQ Phoenix Stratos audiocodecs and a complete CorssNET 104 intercom system.
The AEQ intercom system, linked to the audio IP network, is based on the CROSSNET 104 matrix, with 64 Dante-AES67 ports, TP 8116 rack user panels, the TP 8416 desktop user panels, as well as an Olympia 3 Commentator Unit, and 4-wire analog circuits, offering great workflow flexibility.
Crossnet is not only used for coordination and talkback, but also for live broadcast, as it´s outstanding audio quality. So the audio provided by the Olympia 3 CU, PA system, program from the main TV studio, among other audio sources, are routed in the matrix and sent to several locations using different interfaces.
