MATARÓ RÀDIO RENEWS ITS EQUIPMENT USING AEQ DANTE AoIP TECHNOLOGY

By Ferran Valls, Mataró Audiovisual Broadcast chief

Mataró Audiovisual company, leaded by Mei Ros Management, has selected AEQ to renew their equipment for the new facilities located in Tecnocampus Mataró.

Following the need to join the resources at Mataró Ràdio, Mataró Televisión and Mataró Digital, Mataró Audivisual has unified their facilities into a single headquarter using AoIP technology to integrate the Radio and Television studios.

AEQ has walked together with Mataró Radio along its technologic career, since back in 2006 they opened up the studios with AEQ analog consoles and Mar4win automation systems from the same brand. Two years later, in 2008, they expanded their facilities acquiring two AEQ ARENA latest-generation digital consoles, with 15 faders each, connected to the BC2000D routing & mixing engine, one of the most powerful ones available in the broadcast market. Later on, they also upgraded their Mar4win automation systems to Mar4Suite PRO.

Now, in 2018, Mataró Audiovisual has taken the latest leap towards the creation of a modern studio adapted to the highest technological requirements. In order to do that, this audio-visual company -counting with AEQ technical support- has created an AoIP network with Dante technology allowing for the interconnection of equipment from different manufacturers (AEQ, YAMAHA…) and the connection of two studios located in the university with the station’s main control.

In order to get the most from this AoIP network, Mataró Audiovisual has purchased two new AEQ FORUM IP digital consoles with 12 faders each and AoIP DANTE technology, as well as the NETBOX 32 AD audio interface with high input and output capacity, designed for central controls.

Further, Mataró Audiovisual completed their console with the optional FORUM IP SCREEN software, easing its control and operation thanks to the convenient display of all console’s main parameters: vu-meters, clock and timer, ON AIR status and phone lines indicators.

This technological and equipment renewal has, in no way, forced the company to make good-working equipment obsolete; on the other hand, within this upgrade plan AEQ ARENA consoles have been reconfigured to be used as an audio matrix in the central control and as a mixer in the recording booth.

The entire Rádio Mataró move project has been supervised by the broadcast Chief Ferran Valls, with the collaboration of Nacho Olivella, AEQ Sales Area Manager for Catalunya.
