THE NEW STUDIOS OF CADENA 3 IN ARGENTINA ARE BEING FURNISHED WITH AEQ

Cadena 3 is a private radio broadcaster transmitting from the city of Córdoba in Argentina. The station covers the whole country through a large network of affiliate stations. Cadena 3 is the successor of LV3 Radio Córdoba, a public station radio founded in 1930 using the original name of LV3 Radio Buenos Aires-Córdoba. Several repeaters and affiliated stations across the whole country have progressively joined over the years, thus expanding its coverage from the original LV3 700kHz AM frequency used in the Cordoba province and the south of Santa Fe. At present, Cadena 3 is rated as the third Radio Network in Argentina in terms of audience in the mornings (in Cordoba it has 85% of the local audience).

Back in 1992, AEQ was hired to supply and install Cadena3 with at the time state-of-the-art analogue technology and that rendered Cadena 3 with excellent results. This is demonstrated by the fact that most of the original material has been operating until present days. In 2013, Cadena3 Technical Management decided to migrate most of the studios to digital technology and AEQ was again selected as the main subcontractor, providing the new AEQ BC2000D central audio router, three AEQ ARENA mixing consoles and AEQ SYSTEL multi-conference system, among others.

Now, this station’s digitizing project is being completed with the transformation of the three last remaining analogue studios, selecting the AEQ GRAND FORUM mixing console for that purpose.

AEQ FORUM is a mixing console designed for ON AIR broadcast control. It incorporates all the basic features required for this kind of environments: automatic monitor muting, cough cut, fader-start, signaling control, provision of control signals for the automation of external equipment, external communications management, intercom, etc. Thanks to its modular design and reduced size, it is very well suited to different scenarios: self-control, control-booth, TV realization controls, sound production, mixed configurations, integration in larger installations, etc.

Simplicity and control power is combined in AEQ FORUM to cover from the most basic to advanced operation requirements, starting with a minimum control surface including 4 faders which can be easily expanded to 8 or 12 independent channels with the standard chassis, or 20 channels with the Grand Forum chassis.

The complete project has been leaded by Cadena 3 engineers Mr. Guillermo Chialvo and Mr. Axel Maldonado, in collaboration with VEC sales manager Mr. Federico Heuser as the local Argentina AEQ partner and its counterpart in Madrid, Mr. Luis Miguel Sánchez-Migallón.
